I recently teamed up with the wonderful ladies at the Women In Jewelry Association and Analog:Shift to host an unforgettable evening for watch enthusiasts, bringing together over 40 incredible women to explore the captivating world of timepieces. From expert advice to the latest trends, our "Watch 101: Building Your Watch Collection" event was a night filled with inspiration.

We welcomed an incredible panel of experts: writer and Dimepiece founder Brynn Wallner, editor and jewelry expert Tanya Dukes, and Tiffany & Co watchmaker Catherine Donnelly. From the moment they started sharing their insights and personal stories, the room was electric. It was fascinating to hear about the journey from discovering a love of watches to navigating the intricacies of building a collection. Thanks to Tiffany Wade and Cootchill Nelson for capturing the evening. You can check out the Analog Shift recap here.

Key Takeaways from the Evening

The Rise of Women in Watch Collecting: It’s no secret that the watch industry is experiencing a significant shift. Statistics from Deloitte and Chrono24 underscore the growing influence of women in this space. With 36% of women viewing watches as investments and 25% of the marketplace comprised of female users, it's clear that the watch world is becoming increasingly inclusive.

Trends and Taste: Social media and celebrity endorsements undoubtedly shape watch trends. However, our panelists emphasized the importance of staying true to one's personal style. Whether you're drawn to vintage timepieces or cutting-edge designs, there's a watch out there for everyone.

Tips for New Collectors: For those embarking on their watch collecting journey, the panelists offered invaluable advice. Prioritizing personal style, doing your research and exploring reputable resources were highlighted as essential steps. Remember, building a collection is a personal experience, so don't be overwhelmed by the countless options available.

A Night to Remember

The evening was more than just a panel discussion. Guests had the opportunity toexplore a curated selection of vintage and pre-owned watches from Analog:Shift, connecting with the stories behind these timeless pieces. The event also featured several vendors from female-owned businesses, including wine and decor, celebrating the significant contributions of women to the watch industry and beyond.

The event was filled with laughter, insightful discussions, and a shared passion for horology. A huge shout out to the Women in Jewelry Association and Analog Shift for partnering with me to make this happen! Hope to see you at the next one.
