Haute Couture Meets Watchmaking

One of my favorite launches this year was Chanel’s unique watch collection - “Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles.”

The collection pays homage to Gabrielle Chanel’s love for sewing and her iconic atelier on Rue Cambon in Paris. It piqued my interest since this collection sits at the intersection of history, couture and high watchmaking.

The Chanel watches feature oversized, dome-shaped cases resembling pincushions, adorned with various motifs like quilted leather, tweed patterns, and even pearls. These intricate designs are crafted using precious materials like mother-of-pearl, diamonds, and gold, making them true works of art.

What also stood out for me, is this is a playful and whimsical way to celebrate Chanel’s heritage and the importance of craftsmanship in their designs. Looking forward to seeing what else is in the works for the future.
